Expedition points
Galicia y Castilla y León
Cementos Tudela Veguín has distribution and shipping points at various locations around its geographical area of influence. These form the logistics base which provides support to our commercial network and serves as the link between our factories and our customers. Our fleet of ships delivers the material to the distribution centres; the ships load at the port of Gijón, by means of a conveyor belt which joins our factory in Aboño directly to the dock, the vessels then travel to the ports of unloading, where the material is transferred to the silos using modern pumping systems.
Our facilities in Galicia are situated in La Coruña and in Pontevedra, more precisely in the port of Coruña, the port of Villagarcía, and the ports of Vigo and Portas. In Castilla y León our factories are situated in Valladolid and Salamanca.
Our facilities have the following capacities:
Coruña:
- San Diego Quay: 10,000 t divided between 4 silos
- Calvo Sotelo Quay: 5,000 t divided between 4 silos
Villagarcía:
- Ferrazo Quay: 9,000 t divided between 4 silos
Vigo:
- Arenal Quay: 15,000 t divided between 9 silos
Portas (Pontevedra):
- 2,300 t divided between 2 silos
Zaratán (Valladolid):
- 2,500 t in 1 silo
Cristina Masaveu;: One of the most modern ships in Spain
This ship was launched in 2011 and, due to its ability to travel long distances, has opened the way to
international exports.
The vessel weighs 10,600 tons and has a load capacity of up to 10,000 cubic metres. Furthermore, it can reach a service speed of 14 knots and its shallow draft allows it to operate in a vast range of port facilities.
One of the new features worth a mention is the completely closed loading/unloading system, which totally avoids all types of contamination including acoustic pollution.
Over a period of 11 months, more than 250 people worked on the construction of the ship.
