The growing regulatory requirement from an environmental point of view, as well as the strong social demand for a more sustainable industrial activity, oblige transforming companies such as thermal, ceramic, cement, steel, metallurgical, stained glass, paper mills and waste treatment plants. , in search of solutions that minimize its emissions and polluting discharges to the natural environment.
On this horizon, a development opportunity is detected for some of the products currently manufactured by Cementos Tudela Veguín S.A, such as those based on Cal, traditionally associated with construction and iron and steel applications.
Thanks to the collaboration agreement signed with the María Cristina Masaveu Peterson Foundation, the Department of Research, Development and Innovation of Cementos Tudela Veguín SA will be able to design a research project for the development of a new application of the aforementioned family of products in the environmental field , which will allow, not only to improve the operation of the company itself, adapting it to new requirements, but to increase its commercialization potential towards new markets in a process of diversification of its activity.
The project also includes research into the minimization, regeneration and recovery of waste that inexorably appears associated with decontamination processes, thereby improving sustainability throughout the entire life cycle of the new product.
The main objective, therefore, is to generate a family of products with application in the field of reducing polluting emissions into the atmosphere, generating added value over current solutions, both from an economic and environmental point of view.
